Ringside…
The show cut back to ringside, where SCCW head trainer, Ben Hanson was standing with Claire James. He seemed excited about the progress that the students were making during their sessions, and how the first Supershow was fast approaching. Hanson said he was here to announce that the show would be called EMERGENCE! And would be held on April 16th at the SCCW Arena in Georgetown.
Claire asked him what matches would be on the card, to which Hanson reminded fans about the first ever Hudson Cup match between Delaney Lukas and Tommy Evans from NKP and SCCW. He also announced that SCCW would be crowning their first ever tag team champions in a fatal fourway match, where Adam & Chino, The Lincoln Bros, The Caffiends, and Harper Hill & The Jester would all compete to become the inaugural tag champions!
Claire pressed him further, and Hanson admitted that wasn’t all. He’s obviously been watching the shows very carefully, and paying attention at the training center, and there’s two wrestlers on the SCCW roster who have been excelling in both, and have managed to remain undefeated up until this point. Which is why at Emergence, BRUTUS and DJ RONIE would compete to become the first ever SCCW Champion!
The crowd seemed happy enough with those announcements, so Ben headed backstage to allow Claire to start the introductions for the next match.
Tag Team Match
Harper Hill & The Jester vs. The Lincoln Bros
The resident troublemakers of SCCW started things off early as they attacked The Lincoln Bros during the entrance. The bell didn’t even get to ring to start things off as Jester, with the help of her bat Priscilla, attacked Sam from behind. A shot to the back put Sam down, while Harper Hill attacked Dean with a steel chair.
Together they managed to deliver a double suplex to Dean on the metal rampway, before bringing Sam down towards the ring. They bounced his head off the steps, and the apron before rolling Sam into the ring. Harper went first, hitting Lincoln with a low angle headscissors driver for a two count. Lincoln wasn’t done just yet though. Harper continued, keeping Sam grounded as she worked over the legs. A tag was made to Jester as Harper crudely applied a camel clutch, allowing Jester to hit a basement dropkick to the face. But even that only got a two count.
In the fifth minute Sam Lincoln tried to fight back; he caught Jester with a big boot of the corner, staggering the Frenchwoman, but she managed to duck a clothesline and counter with a jumping neckbreaker. That’s when Dean returned to the ring! The crowd cheered as he dragged Harper off the apron and threw her into the guard rail, before he slid into the ring. Dean charged as Jester, but got caught by a drop toe hold that sent him face first into the middle turnbuckle. With him seated in the corner, The Jester had the perfect opportunity to hit the bronco buster!
The ninth minute rolled around as Harper Hill finished her flurry of offense with a cartwheel back elbow off the ropes, before Dean broke up the pin attempt with a boot to the head. He continued stomping at her before he picked Harper up and threw her out through the middle ropes … when the lights went out.
The crowd didn’t know what to think of that, until ten seconds later when they came back up, and Brutus was in the ring! Dean charged at the demon, but got caught by a big boot! Sam tried his luck, only to get caught by a hand around the throat, before he got choke slammed to the mat! The bell sounded to signal the disqualification as the referee tried to get things in order, but he could do little to stop Brutus from deadlifting Dean off the mat for a running powerslam. Brutus left the ring as Harper & The Jester stayed out of his way.
Winners: The Lincoln Bros (11:01)
Ringside…
Jasmine Reed was already in the ring when Malika made her entrance again, still looking angry about what transpired earlier in the evening. She announced that Ben Hanson had allowed her to pick Jasmine Reed’s opponent for tonight, so she’s picked a man who has wrestling in his blood, just like Jasmine supposedly does…
And tonight Jasmine would be facing … ALIKA GRAY!
Singles Match
Jasmine Reed vs. Alika Gray
The crowd seemed excited to watch this one as Gray made his entrance, shaking his head at Malika as he knew she was using him in her own little game against Reed. But he wrestled, regardless. And he wrestled hard!
Gray controlled much of the opening few minutes, throwing strikes that kept knocking Jasmine Reed on her ass. Repeated clotheslines in the corner lead to a huge hiptoss that sent Reed half way across the ring, before Gray hit a lariat that knocked his opponent ass over tea kettle. But he could only pick up a two count each time her tried.
Reed countered a back body drop attempt in the fourth minute to find a way into the match, dropping Gray with a DDT in the center of the ring. She followed that up with a basement calf kick, but could only score a two count off that. At ringside, Malika seemed to be growing angrier the longer Jasmine remained on the offensive; when Reed hit a flying bulldog off the middle rope, the vein in Malika’s forehead looked ready to burst – a fact that didn’t escape Jimmy Jam’s attention on commentary.
But Reed could only score a two count off that as well. The match was in the seventh minute before Gray found a way into the match once more; he countered a back body drop with a big boot to the face, followed by The Legacy (Short-Arm Lariat)! Malika cheered at ringside as Gray went for the cover, only for Reed to kick out at two! Gray seemed shocked as well, but soon set Reed up for an Irish whip against the ropes – but she reversed it, unbeknownst to Malika, who grabbed at the ankle of Alika Gray by accident! He stumbled right into a small package from Jasmine Reed, who picked up the three count.
Winner: Jasmine Reed (8:58)
After the match, Jasmine made her way back up the aisle whilst celebrating, and Malika continued to look distraught as she realized she helped Jasmine by accident. In the ring, Gray looked displeased with both women, before he too headed backstage.
Singles Match
Caintigern vs. Delaney Lukas
This match never got started, as Caintigern was attacked during her entrance by Rocky Rhodes. He ran down behind the Irishwoman, and caught her with a clubbing blow to the back before he threw her into the guard rail. Papa Z held Delaney Lukas off as she tried to exit the ring to help, but Rocky was able to drop Caintigern down onto the metal ramp with a side slam before some staff could make their way out.
Lukas watched on in horror as her supposed opponent was slammed down onto the ramp with Rhodes’ patented Steamroller (inverted front powerslam), which is when Ben Hanson made his presence known. He stood between Rhodes and Caintigern and declared that he didn’t know where this hatred between the two started, but he wasn’t about to let someone like Rocky Rhodes come in here and bully his roster just because he’s more experienced.
Hanson continued, saying if Rhodes wanted to act this way then he can face Caintigern in a few weeks at Emergence … in a street fight! And the crowd seemed to like the notion that these two brawlers will collide at the first ever SCCW supershow!
Winner: No Contest (0:00)
Backstage…
Brutus was sitting alone in the boiler room of the Seaford High School. He was holding his head in his hands, shaking it back and forth.
“I’m so tired of this, the constant attempts by the Lincoln Brothers to try to take me down. Throwing salt at me, what is that? They will learn that this is a fools errand”
Brutus laughed as he continued to talk about how the Lincoln brothers are idiots, and how they won’t stop him from achieving his ultimate goal. Even if he has to dismantle them before he goes onto greater things. Which brought him to his next point.
“DJ Ronie and I are set up to face off for the SCCW championship. A title that means advancement, a title that will inevitably lead me to furthering my career. It’s our biggest prize here in SCCW and could lead me back to fighting on a grand stand such as SSWA, or NKP depending on the level of interest. Even CCP or SAP could be involved. All places I’d love to work at to continue my domination. So the question arises, who is DJ Ronie to stop me? A singular nobody, whose chance are nill. I will show all the talent scouts at WCS that I’m the only talent they should be focused on, and I will find my way out of SCCW and destroy worlds much greater than this”
After speaking these words Brutus pushed his way past the camera man, as the scene went dark.
MAIN EVENT
Singles Match
Dewey Dresden (w/ Sullivan Pibb) vs. Micah Monroe
The match started with a staredown as the two behemoths tried to intimidate the other. But neither budged an inch before they locked up collar and elbow, at which point Monroe was able to use his size to overpower the veteran. The crowd were fully behind Micah as he started off slow, using the basic hiptoss and body slams to throw Dresden around the ring. A stalling vertical suplex had Dresden in trouble in the third minute, but he was able to kick out.
The veteran took the lead shortly thereafter, as he countered an Irish whip to the corner with a back elbow! The big man was staggered, allowing Dresden to connect with a shoulderblock. But the big man stayed on his feet. A clothesline followed, but still Micah stayed upright. So Dresden pulled out the big guns and drilled Micah Monroe with a spear! The pin attempt only got a two count, though.
Dresden stayed on the offensive as, on the outside, Sullivan Pibb did his best to antagonize the crowd. Some European uppercuts in the corner found their mark, before the action spilled outside; Dresden connected with a couple of single leg dropkicks that were enough to knock Micah out through the ropes. Dresden then proceeded to distract the referee, while Sullivan nailed Micah with a running knee lift to the face. Monroe got rolled back into the ring, and covered for a two count before he powered out!
Dresden could hardly believe it as he got tossed a couple of feet into the air. But worse was yet to come as Monroe began his fight back; the big man hit a fall forward slam and a belly-to-belly, albeit sloppily, to drive the wind out of Dewey’s lungs, before he performed a deadlift running powerslam on the 270 pounder! The crowd cheered loudly as Micah covered – but Sullivan was able to put his partner’s foot on the ropes.
But Micah didn’t rise to the bait, and instead went back to work. The match ticked into the tenth minute as Monroe sent his opponent towards the corner, following him in with an avalanche attack. A sitout cross legged slam followed, and Micah was able to get another two count.
Unfortunately for the big man, Pibb came into play again as he distracted the referee to stop that cover. And this interference caused Micah to confront Sullivan, as he told him to go backstage and let his partner fight his own match. At which point Dewey got back to his feet and was able to catch Micah by surprise with the Baja Blast (cobra clutch backbreaker) and a three count!
Winner: Dewey Dresden (11:58)
The show closed as The Caffiends celebrated in the ring, making the title belt motion around their waists to signify to the crowd that they want those tag titles at Emergence.
