Backstage…
We cut backstage to find a usually jolly Thunderbelly in something more of a brooding mood. His focus seemed to be away from the camera focusing on him, and more on his signature large black war hammer whose handle he firmly gripped in both hands. He began by speaking about how his silence has probably been taken as a sign of cowardice, and wishes to dispel that belief.
Thunderbelly then continued, restating his intentions that he had preached since he had first entered "The County of Sussex." How he would allow no injustice to rule the land as long as he was able to swing his hammer, and that the wicked nature of Harper Hill and "her fool," shone through all others. Though, as mighty as he may be, he was but one man...frog, and not even he would be able to stand up to their superior numbers or their cowardly attacks.
But, upon mentioning that he no longer rode alone, the usual cadence in his voice shone through, finally turning toward the camera as he puffed his chest out. He now rode with one of his oldest comrades to face the ne'er-do-wells that have plagues himself and Sussex County for far to long, and tonight was going to be the first true stride taken against their wicked strangle hold on this land! Tonight the justice that they face takes on the form known only as THUNDERZELLY! But, Thunderbelly reiterates that tonight is only beginning, and that Harper Hill will face the true justice of Asgaard soon enough…
Singles Match
Sammie Rósza (w/ Dickie Harter) vs. Chino Hills
Rósza came out the gate flying! She was a firebrand in that ring, throwing everything she had at Chino Hills, with Dickie cheering her on from ringside. A rolling elbow in the second minute nearly got her a three count, but Chino was able to kick out at the last minute.
Hills did manage to get back into the match shortly thereafter; he dodged a running clothesline in the corner and was able to hit a cartwheel back elbow before Rósza had chance to recover. Hills showed off his striking prowess as he peppered her with chops and forearm smashes, before heading up top for a ropewalk meteora in the fourth minute. It was only enough for a two count, though.
The fifth minute saw a change in fortune, however, as Sammie Rósza was able to get a boot up as her opponent charged at her in the corner. She managed to manoeuvre herself into position to hit a rolling cutter when suddenly she got distracted by something on the outside.
The Caffiends ran through the crowd to attack Dickie Harter from behind, throwing him into the ring steps before stomping him down. Incensed, Sammie leapt to her friend’s aid. But the numbers proved too great for her, as Dewey and Sullivan ended up throwing Sammie over the guard rail and into the crowd. At this point the referee called for the bell.
Winner: No Contest (5:02)
The Caffiends managed to stomp Chino down, and hit the Livewire Ride (powerbomb/neckbreaker combo) before Adam Dragomirov stormed the ring. He went after The Caffiends, but again the numbers proved too much. He had Dewey down when Sullivan Pibb caught him with a German suplex, and The Caffiends swarmed.
Adam & Chino were left in a heap in the ring as the tag champions posed for the crowd, who booed all the while.
Backstage…
Papa Zellor can be seen talking to Rocky Rhodes, who seems rather irate about something. As usual. Rhodes states that he’s the “best in the bidness” and should’ve been wrestling tonight. He should’ve been the one facing Caintigern and getting the chance to hit her hard enough she’ll start speaking English instead of Irish! And to drive her face first into that mat until her eyes are close enough together to look in the same direction!
The rant continues in a similar vein for nearly two minutes before Papa Z finally intervenes; he has an idea that he thinks Rocky will like. And here’s what he needs to do…
Singles Match
Caintigern vs. Big Dil (w/ Papa Z)
In a hard hitting contest, it was Caintigern who controlled a large portion of the action. Big Dil, despite his recent image change, doesn’t seem to have improved in the ring over the last few weeks as he threw some clunky looking lariats, but nothing that’d keep the Irishwoman down past a two count.
In the third minute Caintigern took the lead; she threw punch after punch to back Big Dil against the ropes, before a hefty forearm smash knocked him onto the apron. From there Caintigern was able to hit a triangle knee strike that sent Dil to the outside.
That put the match right into Caintigern’s wheelhouse as she slammed Big Dil into the guard rail and ring steps. But he managed to get his hands up to block as Caintigern tried to send him head first into the post, and counter by sending Caintigern head first into the post herself. He rolled her back into the ring and followed up with a big splash, but only for a two count.
Despite Papa Z’s encouragement and instruction, Big Dil’s advantage didn’t last for long. He missed a running clothesline into the corner and hit the turnbuckle chest first, before slumping down. That allowed Caintigern to hit her newly learned cornered running double strike. But the pin attempt only got a two count.
Caintigern got another two count in the sixth minute after hitting a spinning headlock elbow drop, but Dil was able to stay in this one. In the seventh minute, Big Dil was nailed by the Jawbox Gin (Boma Ye) and Caintigern thought her luck was in. But Papa Z put Dil’s foot on the bottom rope to break the three count.
After that Caintigern got into an argument with Papa Z at ringside, chasing him around the ring as the old man did his best to escape her. He rolled into the ring with Caintigern in hot pursuit, only for her to get caught by Big Dil’s spinning swinging side slam! All 300 pounds coming crashing down across her as Big Dil, for the extra measure, grabbed her pants as the referee counted the three count.
Winner: Big Dil (8:02)
After the match Rocky Rhodes made his way down to the ring to join his manager and associate, as they stood around Caintigern. On Rocky’s instruction, Big Dil went to pick the Irishwoman up – only to get clocked by a brass knucks shot to the face!
Papa Z got caught next, only this time by a rolling spear as Caintigern forced herself to continue fighting. But Rocky Rhodes left the ring in time to save himself as he helped his friends do the same, before they all headed backstage, and Caintigern made a cutthroat gesture at all three of them.
Backstage…
The lights in the corridor flickered as Brutus walked towards the camera with the SCCW Championship belt slung over one shoulder. He stopped in front of the camera; the lights kept flickering around him, causing the shadows to shift across his face.
But the implication is plain for all to see; his lips twist into a smirk as he whispers her name, “Malika…” before walking off down the corridor once again.
MAIN EVENT
Tag Team Match
ThunderZelly (Thunderbelly & Annie Zellor) vs. GBH (Harper Hill & The Jester)
The match started early as GBH attacked their opponents during their entrance. The Jester attacked Annie, while Harper went after Thunderbelly. Zellor got dropped with a double arm DDT on the ramp way, before The Jester tore off the Thunderbelly t-shirt that Zellor was wearing.
GBH had a few moments to double team Thunderbelly while his partner was down; together they were easily able to hit a double suplex, as well a double back suplex face slam. But neither could keep the Asgaardian down for more than a two count. But still Thunderbelly couldn’t get in much offense; GBH kept him trapped in their corner as Harper hit a cartwheel back elbow, followed by a Jester bronco buster.
The fourth minute rolled around and Zellor finally made it up onto the apron, just as Thunderbelly managed to find a way back into the match. He countered a Jester back body drop attempt with a boot to the face, before countering her attempted lariat with an airplane spin. The crowd enjoyed it as Thunderbelly went on for nearly twenty rotations; he dropped Jester to the mat before he staggered over and tagged in Annie Zellor!
The SCCW crowd gave Zellor a warm reception as she hit the ring at the same time as Harper Hill did. Zellor was able to get the better of the rookie, ducking under a clothesline attempt before hitting her patented All That Glitters (satellite DDT). Jester got back to her feet and immediately got sent to the corner, where Annies showed that she’s Gots Skillz (discus clothesline/bulldog combo) as she picked up a two count.
The action spilled to the outside in the sixth minute as Zellor went for a suicide dive, only for Harper Hill to move out of the way. Zellor hit the guard rail hard, and Harper was able to pick up a two count as she rolled Annie back into the ring. GBH controlled the pace for a couple of minutes; Harper targeted the head as she managed to hit a springboard corner tornado DDT, and a low angle headscissors driver on Zellor. But neither got her a three count.
The Jester got tagged in and used the same game plan; she performed a turnbuckle catapult and a ripcord rolling elbow among other moves, before finally being able to hit a bridging dragon suplex on an opponent. But Thunderbelly made the save for his team.
By the ninth minute Zellor looked a little worse for wear as GBH had her in the corner again. But things went awry for them when The Jester missed her bronco buster! With the crowd urging her on, Annie was able to make the tag out to Thunderbelly! The Asgaardian was able to catch the oncoming Harper Hill with a Thunderclap (Running Palm Strike), before sending her over the top rope with a clothesline! He was even able to display his strength as he sent The Jester over the top rope with a fallaway slam, right onto her partner on the outside.
The fans were getting behind ThunderZelly as they posed in the ring, each performing a #grrface before they hit simultaneous baseball slides to their opponents. GBH did manage to get back into the match in the eleventh minute, however, as Harper Hill caught Thunderbelly with a knee to the back as he hits the ropes. The Jester was able to capitalize as she dropped Thunderbelly with a rolling elbow before making the tag out. Harper entered the ring with a springboard hurricanrana, scoring a near fall on Thunderbelly before Annie made the save.
But Harper seemed to take umbrage with Annie’s interference; the two argued as the referee tried to separate them and get Annie back into her corner. Push came to shove and Harper eventually swung for the former FGA tag champ. But Annie ducked and kissed her fist before popping Harper POW! Right in the kisser! Hill stumbled backwards into the waiting arms of Thunderbelly who scooped her up for Forseti's Axe (Axe Guillotine Driver) – NO!
The Jester saved her partner with a low blow, forcing Thunderbelly to drop to his knees and drop Harper without doing much harm. The referee immediately called for the bell, but Annie ran past him and springboarded off the middle rope to drop The Jester with Rough n Tumble II (springboard codebreaker). But Zellor got spun around and Harper Hill hit the Gutter (cutter) that took Annie down.
Winners: ThunderZelly (13:22)
Thunderbelly quickly rescued his tag team partner and helped her out of the ring as, inside the ring, Harper helped The Jester get back to her feet. The four of them all stare at each other knowing they’ll be meeting up in separate matches at High Voltage, and knowing this is far from over between them.
